Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Entertainment in Geneva is diverse and the options can seem limitless. For example, the Japanese Tea Garden is extremely popular for weddings, proms, photoshoots, and other special events. Designed in 1910 by Japanese landscape architect Taro Otsuka, the gardens provide a serene place for residents to experience nature and learn about the philosophy of Japanese gardening.

The Fabyan Villa Museum was a home owned by Colonel George and Nelle Fabyan from 1905 to 1939 and is famous for the remodel done in 1907 by world-famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The large estate is now a preserved piece of history and is open for visits from the public.

For a real taste of hometown pride, an afternoon or evening is best spent cheering for the Kane County Cougars baseball team. The Kane County Cougars play in the American Association of Professional Baseball, and the remodeled 11,000-person stadium has a variety of family-friendly events in between innings and dazzling fireworks to enjoy after the game.

Things to Do

Geneva loves to celebrate its history and heritage. Swedish Days is a midsummer festival that celebrates the Swedish influence in Geneva. Geneva also hosts the Geneva Arts Fair, which showcases artists from all over the country working in a host of different mediums. Over twenty years of experience has led to an elevated attendance and notoriety of the festival, which is anticipated by residents every summer.

The Fox Valley Folk Music and Storytelling Fair serves classic folk music and stories in a picturesque outdoor setting. The Fox River also hosts a Summer Concert Series, which provides live music for residents along the Fox River on Sundays in July. The Kane County Fair is located in nearby St. Charles, Illinois, and is a classic midwestern fair.
