Things to Do

Activities in Oswego focus on community and the rural traditions of suburban Illinois. Prairie Fest is a four-day festival celebration of the start of summer. Hosted by the Oswegoland Park District, local businesses and volunteers in the community come together to present four days of music, food, drinks, and fun for the whole family. Summer celebrations continue with Oswego Harborfest. This festival has grown into a regional delight and has dozens of musical performances, ample vendors selling food, drinks, arts and crafts as well as activities, and a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

Oswegoland Park District is the organization responsible for maintaining the many parks and outdoor spaces in the community. This organization puts on many different activities for the whole family throughout the spring through fall seasons. For example, children’s activities, National Night Out, fitness classes, and beer gardens are some of the events hosted throughout the season. The Oswego Hometown Car Show is part of the Oswego Hometown Expo and features indoor and outdoor displays, demonstrations, items for sale, food, drinks, and of course a gorgeous display of classic and unique cars.
