Plainfield is filled with eclectic diversity, best observed in the dining scene. Moe Joe’s is a delightful vision of Cajun-Caribbean cooking and has a lively atmosphere. Influenced by New Orleans’ style cooking, Moe Joe’s transports guests to the Deep South of America with all of the spicy, tantalizing flavors that go with it. For another version of southern cooking, residents can head over to Station One Smokehouse, a Texas-style barbeque joint that features some of the best flavors from around the state. Station One Smokehouse brings the delicious flavor of central Texas barbeque to the Midwest in Plainfield with exquisitely smoked and grilled meats and classic sides like cornbread and collard greens. 

After indulging in all the delicious options downtown, residents might need to explore some of the outdoor pursuits available in Plainfield. Lake Renwick Preserve is a wetland nature preserve famous as a nesting site for wading birds, such as herons, egrets, and cormorants. The Preserve is also an excellent place to sight bald eagles. The preserve has many choices for hiking and running trails and even features a paved trail for biking, rollerskating, and other pursuits. Plainfield River Tubing offers summer fun for the whole family. In this adventure, residents can leisurely float down the DuPage River, cooking off and enjoying scenic views.

Things to Do 

There’s plenty of community-based fun in this small village. The Plainfield Fest is a three-day festival celebrating the height of summer. Residents can enjoy features such as live music, beer gardens, pony rides, a petting zoo, a balloon artist, a classic car show, and games for the whole family. Evenings in the summer of Plainville are star-studded with classic cars in the Plainfield Cruise Nights car show. Local car enthusiasts gather to show off their unique and classic cars. Residents are rewarded with a great car show, live music, and local food and beverages. 

For golf enthusiasts, just outside of Plainfield is the Mistwood Golf Club. This Scottish-inspired course features 20 St. Andrews-style sod-wall bunkers and 7,000 yards of playable terrain. This award-winning golf course features serene, natural scenery that will transport players to the Scottish countryside.
